Hi all. I have something I need to share.

Social media has not been kind to me whatsoever as far as running this project is concerned. My Instagram account was hacked into and I lost followers over there (it has now been deactivated) and my Jimmy Neutron Revival Twitter account has trolls and people giving me a hard time – two years ago it was so bad I had to lock it for an entire year. The only two places that have been relatively OK-ish have been my Facebook fan page and my revival project Tumblr blog but even they are far from perfect.

Social media once helped me, but now it’s hurting me. I’ve lost lots of support over the last year due to no fault of my own. Just because of mean-spirited people. My Jimmy Neutron Revival Instagram account being hacked was quite literally the final straw.

I have been running this whole thing by myself for 10 years. In 2011, social media was a lot less hostile than it is now. Running this project has turned into a chore, especially since support has dwindled over the past year. Some of that may be because of the pandemic which is totally understandable, while the rest of it is people just moving on.

I have had to re-evaluate this endeavor going forward – is this something I really want to continue pursuing, given all of the grief I have been dealt?

I left all of the social media I had attached to this project a few days ago. When you’ve invested so much time and effort in something only to be forced to leave it, it hurts like you wouldn’t believe. I’m fighting back tears and frustration as I type this.

I felt the need to tell you, the supporters of this petition, about what I have been dealing with so you would know why I’m stepping aside.
