La Bodega Art Gallery has been a key part of the Barrio Logan community for six years now and played a key role in transforming Logan Avenue into a cultural and artistic hub. Thousands of people come each month to enjoy the art shows and community created by owners Chris & Soni. The traffic generated by these shows feeds surrounding businesses and galleries as well - the small boutiques on the street depend on the crowds generated by La Bodega to survive. 

Now building owner Nick Inzunza MacFarland has raised the rent to the point that La Bodega can't afford to remain. The owner feels that he can rent to a brewery or restaurant who will pay top dollar so he has pushed the art gallery out as of December 31, 2019.

We the patrons and supporters call on Nick Inzunza MacFarland to refrain from evicting La Bodega and negotiate an affordable lease with the owners. By signing below, we affirm that we will fight this flagrant act of aggression against our community by opposing any application for a liquor license and boycotting any future business that choses to occupy this tainted space. We petition Nick to act in his interests and the interests of the community by negotiating a new lease with La Bodega.
