The new bus lane on John Dobson Street has been causing distress to many road users due to it's unclear temporary signage, limited alternative routes and the ongoing major roadworks which are on the route. The new camera in place has caught 20,000 in just 6 weeks, a staggering 476 people a day on average. The view of many residents of the city is that they are unhappy with this new lane and the camera as it has stopped a much needed route towards the RVI and also is causing users to pay their hard earned money in fines due to the unclear signage. Many people are appealing these fines however we currently are unaware of their success. We would like to have this route reviewed as currently it appears to be a money making scheme without any clear other benefit to the city.
