Potentially life-saving legislation that was introduced to address our state’s horrific opioid accidental overdose death epidemic is still in committees. The legislation represents a thoughtful and informed range of approaches including recovery housing certification, discharge planning from hospitals, prevention education, enhancements of the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program, increased access to naloxone, and funding to strengthen recovery high schools.

A delay until next session to pass this package of legislation will result in more preventable deaths of our family members, friends and neighbors.
