Pass legislation to prevent overdose deaths in Rhode Island NOW!
This petition made change with 257 supporters!
Potentially life-saving legislation that was introduced to address our state’s horrific opioid accidental overdose death epidemic is still in committees. The legislation represents a thoughtful and informed range of approaches including recovery housing certification, discharge planning from hospitals, prevention education, enhancements of the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program, increased access to naloxone, and funding to strengthen recovery high schools.
A delay until next session to pass this package of legislation will result in more preventable deaths of our family members, friends and neighbors.
Please support the concern and effort of our legislators and community people by encouraging the necessary votes for the following companion bills:
S2356 SUB A as amended and H7616
S2460 Sub A and H7710
S2501 and H7932
S2509 and H7921
S2579 SUB A and H7117
S2604 and H7758
S 2693 SUB A as amended and H7772
S2823 SUB A as amended and H8224
(Please note HB 7362 was erroneously included in the original list of bills of this petition.)
