Greyhounds are being used as racing dogs. This is not a good life for them. Greyhounds are regularly injured, run with injuries and get no proper vet treatment. They are tattooed inside their ears with no anaesthetic and there are times that owners cut the parts if their ears off and tie them to places to be found but can't be traced to their owners. They are housed outside their whole lives. Many do not have soft bedding. They are pushed constantly to their physical and mental limits, sustaining frequent injuries. They are often drugged with viagra and steroids, sometimes cocaine. They have little to no contact with other dogs or people. Greyhounds do not deserve this. Owners will say Greyhounds love running. No, Greyhounds are actually very sedentary dogs and love human company. They are trained harshly with no future, unless they're given away to rehoming charities. Please help them get a better life. Many Greyhounds are found to be malnourished, have sores on their bodies due to not having a soft bed. Once a greyhound can't run or win races they are considered useless to their trainers.
