Stop NHS workers having to pay for parking and being restricted on permits !
Why this petition matters

It has come to mine and many other of my NHS colleagues attention that in the near future we are expected to start paying for parking at work.
I will be asking people from all around to sign my Petition to STOP this from happening and there are many reasons as to why.
Firstly I would like to stress that we are not paid the best money for how hard we all work and with the little resources we have, therefore being asked to pay a free each month to park in a car park that does not have individual bays and is on cobble with a high risk of your car being damaged is not acceptable. It is also ridiculous that the higher your banding is the more you are expected to pay because you should not be Penalised for how much you earn. Secondly being a mother myself and having to pay Extortionate prices for childcare leaves me and my family needing all the money we earn to give our family a good life.
Another issue I have come across learning about the new parking regulations is that if you live within the Jurisdiction stated you will not be permitted to have a permit and are expected to walk, get a lift or travel to the nearest park and ride. This is going to be a serious problem for Many people because looking at my personal issues with this I am not going to be able to make it back from work and take my child to school in time after a night shift. It will take me 30 minutes to walk not taking into account the weather and safeness of the walk in the winter months, and even though I finish shift at 20.00pm I near enough always get out late up to 30 mins because of the high demand of the ward and handover time. Also on many shifts we do not get a break because of the lack of staffing and patient care being priority and then do not want to have to walk home when extremely tired from a busy shift and have to return the next day.
The park and ride is also past my place of work so i would have to leave even earlier causing extra childcare issues and chance being able to get on the park and ride and be at work in time. This will then add extra time to my day and if on a few shifts in a row this will lead to less down time and extra stress.
please consider all the points I make and realise us NHS workers do not ask for much and we work extremely hard and would just like something in return.
kind regards
