Save the A&E department at George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton

The Issue

Leaving Nuneaton without an A&E department would put patients at risk and increase pressure on other hospitals.

Secret planned cuts to the NHS have been revealed before the official release of the Coventry and Warwickshire 'Sustainability and Transformation Plan', which is looking to counter a £267million funding deficit by 2020.

If the plans go ahead, A&E, maternity and children’s care, and stroke care in Nuneaton would be closed and moved to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW).

George Eliot hospital provides a valuable service to not only the people of Nuneaton but residents across North Warwickshire and in Leicestershire. We believe that closing its accident and emergency department will have a devastating effect. We are calling for a rethink of the plans to retain this essential service.
