A devoted grandma (and very close friend of my mum) has no choice but to travel miles to a kidney unit for dialysis treatment three times a week, whereas she only lives a stone's throw away from West Middlesex Hospital. 

She's worked hard her entire life. With an expansive grin and charismatic personality, she can light up any room but her most remarkable trait is her warmth and kind heartedness. She's always eager to help others and will go the extra mile.

I've never heard her complain or seen her miserable about her circumstances but the loss of her normal kidney function combined with the effect of dialysis on her body clearly shows on her face. She returns home from her gruelling trip just before midnight.

In this day and age and in this stage of her life, she certainly deserves better than this.
