I lost the access to an nhs dentist  with the closure of the dentist at Castlegate in Berwick upon Tweed. As many people in the town and surrounding area are aware there is no alternative nhs dentist in the town. The dentist surgeries that see nhs dentists are full and we face having to travel long distances and at a cost that many people can not afford. I know through my own personal experience as a carer for family members that I just do not have the time as well as the spare money to travel as far as Newcastle or Edinburgh (depending on which side of border you live on).

I have desperate need of dental help as medication I have been taking for my Raynauds has caused mu gums to be red and swollen and I have lost several teeth. I still have roots left in which have been infected. I also need fillings and other dentistry work which I just can not get. 

I am aware there are problems nationwide to get nhs dentists but feel that as a rural town in the county of Northumberland and close to the border of Scotland Berwick is often forgotten about. It is time we stood up and asked for the NHS services we are entitled to. WE NEED MORE NHS DENTISTS IN BERWICK Things need to change and we can only do this through getting our voice out.
