On a day when Ghaziabad and Noida were declared among the most polluted cities of the world and our Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi announced the 5 'Amrit tattva' at COP26 climate change summit, our new neighbours chopped down 25+ fully grown trees from the green belt adjacent to our plot, claiming that the land belonged to them. When we opposed them, they threatened us with our lives (see video attached - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pvMphenCS4 

These trees were planted and maintained by us on behalf of the authority over the last 20 years. They included exotic palms, ashokas, bamboos, medicinal plants and native fruit trees such as guava, jamun and papaya. You can see the trees in our gardening instagram handle (@the.gardenelf). The medicinal plants such as alovera, adulsa, tulsi and kadi patta were used extensively by all residents of the neighbourhood during the covid pandemic. 

These are people who terrorise everyone in the vicinity based on pure muscle might. We are taking legal action against them, not because of the land that anyway belongs to the authority, but because we want justice for those trees that have been lost, each of which was like a child to us that we nurtured over the past two decades. 

We have appealed to the authorities to ensure they are appropriately penalised and are made to re-plant 25 fully grown trees anywhere within this vicinity. Your support will help us achieve this goal and minimise the risk to our lives.
