The issue

We the Ngemba traditional owners do not support claims regarding the desecration of our Ngunnhu.

These claims are false and misleading as no damage has been caused to our sacred site or adjoining lands.

We do not support the Ngemba Community Working Party or their statement that they speak for our community.

We as traditional owners support improvements to our community;

The yarning circle at the weir park is a great place for us to come together.  It shows respect for our cultural way of gathering.

The yarning circle at the school - this is teaching culture to our younger ones.

We believe that any further works in the community will only take place after genuine consultation with all traditional owners/custodians, not just a select few.

We are proud owners and custodians.

Our duty as custodians is to protect this place, our culture, and our community for the future.

We have a strong voice, yet we are silenced by others in community who want to hold the power.  Who silence us through lateral violence and bullying.  Lateral violence is not part of our culture. No individual should hold power over others - this is not our cultural way.

The Ngemba Community Working Party DO NOT have the cultural authority  to speak on behalf of traditional owners - their opinions and slander are not a representation of our community or Traditional owners.
