Since 2005, EA Sports and Madden NFL football have owned the exclusive rights to the NFL, allowing them to obtain a monopoly over the NFL video gaming world. Since then, the NFL and the NFLPA have been paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep the agreement in place regardless of the quality of game, which has been disastrous. Madden football, although a longstanding flagship title and "cash cow" for EA, has fallen extremely far behind the technology and capabilties of our current and next gen systems. Their lack of progress and disregard to the consumer is a clear sign that they simply do not care about the fans and only about a paycheck. 

Although their initial reasoning to obtain an exclusive deal may have been based on the idea of having the best product possible with one developer,  games more than a decade old are still levels ahead of the EA Tiburon developers. With mediocre updates and recycled features, Madden NFL football have made it clear, as long as they keep selling, there's no reason to change. 

We the consumer and fans of the NFL deserve to have an option that allows as many companies to compete to make the best game possible. Ten years of exclusivity have yielded NO advancements nor ground breaking developments. Madden NFL Football has exploited mass consumers under a false promise.

Given today's leaps in technology and gaming, there are dozens of companies that can deliver new fresh ideas on the NFL's brand rather than a sole owner that continues to redistribute the same old model. Competition among rival companies will ONLY create a better representation and experience for all that care about the NFL.

I love this sport but it's a shame to see it bogged down by a financial contract that so blatantly disregards it's fans options and experience. 

Capitalism is the American way and the NFL is America's sport. 
Time to act like it.
