Say No to Michael Vick

Say No to Michael Vick
Why this petition matters

On Nov. 26th, the NFL announced that Michael Vick would serve as one of four 2020 Pro Bowl Legends captains, acting as a “mentor” for the players while leading a specific team's offense or defense. This is a disgrace.
Rewind back to August 2007, when hours after Vick had signed a plea agreement, issued a statement admitting his participation and funding of the dogfighting ring and pled guilty to federal charges in the Bad Newz Kennels dog fighting investigation, the NFL suspended him indefinitely without pay for violating its player conduct policy.
In a letter to Vick, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the quarterback had admitted to conduct that was "not only illegal, but also cruel and reprehensible." That SAME commissioner has agreed 12 years later to allow Michael Vick to be honored by the NFL.
Is this the person we want our children to look up to? Their mentor? The NFL, ESPN, Verizon and Disney are ALL in favor for supporting Michael Vick.
This is NOT the example we should set for the next generation. There are dozens of upstanding NFL players who would better fit the bill. And Michael Vick is surely not one of them.
