The term "Chiefs" is racist and using Native Americans as a mascot is ridiculous. The usage of "Chiefs" as a mascot dehumanizes Native Americans and promotes stereotypes that negatively impact the Native American community. 
 
 A 2020 study at UC Berkeley found that 49% of Native Americans found the name offensive, rising to 67% of those who said they regularly participated in native or tribal culture. 
 

  The letters argued that “Native Americans throughout the country consider the ‘C-word’ a racial, derogatory slur akin to the ‘N-word’ among African Americans or the ‘W-word’ among Latinos.

It's 2020, it's about time we stop using a derogatory slur as a mascot for a football team.
