Nexstar: Please stand up to The Hill's war on Jews!
The Issue
There has been a consistent bias against Jewish safety coming from The Hill for some time now. The recent article on Carrie Prejean Boller is just the most recent example. Here is The Hill's Facebook headlining for their article on Carrie Prejean Boller's removal from the White House Religious Liberty Commission:
"Carrie Prejean Boller has been removed from the White House Religious Liberty Commission after Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R), who chairs the body, accused her of trying to 'hijack' a hearing on antisemitism this week."
She sounds innocent, doesn't she?
In fact, Carrie Prejean Boller repeatedly steered the discussion towards her criticisms of Israel during the hearing on antisemitism. While we don't know for certain (yet) whether she was paid to do so, we do know that Boller posted a photo of herself at an event hosted by the Palestine House of Freedom, an NGO founded by anti-Israel activist Miko Peled. The Palestine House of Freedom has drawn criticism over alleged ties to extremist groups, including hosting a fundraiser for a university whose student council is reportedly dominated by the Hamas-affiliated Al-Wafaa bloc.
Moreover (and perhaps more tellingly), Prejean Boller defended Candace Owens and denied that Owens had ever said anything antisemitic. Candace Owens has a history of sharing antisemitic conspiracy theories.
Boller's specific comments at the hearing on antisemitism included:
"I would really appreciate it if you would stop calling Candace Owens an antisemite,"
"She is not an antisemite. She just doesn't support Zionism, and that really has to stop."
"I listen to her daily, and I haven't heard one thing out of her mouth that I would say is antisemitic"
This petition is to encourage Nexstar, who has not shown themselves to be antisemitic or anti-Israel in their news reporting from NewsNation, to investigate and address the antisemitism and anti-Israel bias repeatedly coming from The Hill. The Hill has a code of ethics which instructs its journalists to be honest, fair, and independent. The Hill claims to maintain a clear separation between news articles and opinion pieces to prevent the opinions of columnists from influencing straight news coverage. The Hill is not living up to its ethical responsibilities and is endangering Jews and democracy as a result.
