The Newport Folk Festival is a celebration of music, community, and shared experience. To keep that spirit alive AND avoid conflict we’re asking the Organizers to make one simple, official update to the festival FAQ and Guidelines:

If a blanket or chair is left unattended in a designated seating area, other attendees are welcome and encouraged to take a seat.

Make this guideline clear to all — attendees, staff, security, and volunteers — through pre-event materials, on-site signage, and festival announcements.

This small change will help prevent arguments, promote fairness, provide more seating AND keep the Newport Folk vibe inclusive, relaxed, and fair.
