Newport Council removed the rough sleeping ban from their new PSPO during a meeting on the 24th November. Rough sleepers in Newport will not face fines or criminal proceedings simply for sleeping on the streets. This is not the end however, as other councils are considering the idea across the UK but Newport Council's u-turn will go a long way to discouraging them from acting.
