Tehaleh Community Center and Pool

The Issue

The Homeowners of Tehaleh desire to have a community space that includes a water recreation for all ages.

A community center is an amazing place for residents to come together and build a strong social community.  A space where residents can have scout meetings, group studies, team-building events, teen study groups, block watch meetings, and birthday parties will only strengthen our community as a whole.  Adding a fitness center to that space would work to positively promote health and wellness for our fellow residents. An out door swimming facility would be our community jewel.  A place where residents can enjoy our amazing PNW summers right here in the community (and maybe a hot tub for spring and fall).  A place where we can teach our children about water safety and where we can escape our a/c free homes for a pick up game of water polo.  We recognize that we live in the Northwest, but we also recognize that access to a swimming hole is that much more treasured as they are so far and few.

From Tehaleh there is not a single public swimming facility withing a 40 minute drive.  The residents of Tehaleh wish to have a space to enjoy water recreation for ALL AGES that is within our beautiful community.  A splash pad is sufficient for small children, but cannot be enjoyed by older children and adults.  The residents also desire a space that can be used for fitness or community gatherings. Currently residents feel the Post is not friendly to residents as it is used as a Newland business office and is not sufficient enough in space to have large or private gatherings.

The majority of Newland Communities include community pools  and Tehaleh residents wish to have a similar facility as that of so many others. These pool facilities are not just in the south as Newland has installed them in Colorado, Maryland, and Minnesota.

The demand was great enough for a community center and pool within Trilogy of Tehaleh that an exclusive clubhouse for Trilogy residents was completed within 2.5 years of Tehaleh opening. The remaining (and what will become the lions share of) residents have a the desire for a facility they too can access.

In 2 nearby HOAs community pools are funded through HOA dues.  A small ~15 resident community maintains their pool on $60/mo HOA fees. A larger ~250 resident community maintains their pool and parks on a $30/mo HOA fee.  Reviewing other Newland communities, it appears most communities with pools have approximately $120/mo in HOA fees.

Tehaleh residents recognize that not every resident wishes to have a pool.  While the support for a community center is more multilateral, the majority of residents still desire a swimming facility.  Most residents seem supportive of purchasing annual pool passes at a rate to support the cost of the pool as opposed to charging all residents through an HOA fee. Residents wish to have access restricted to HOA members.  Alternatively guest day passes could always be sold to nearby residents, as there is a STRONG desire for such amenities within the Bonney Lake area.

This is what will separate Tehaleh from other communities. This is what families want. This will sell homes.
