The Issue

This is a petition to hopefully stop the proposed Hoon Avenue Housing Development. This project is earmarked to be constructed on a valuable piece of green land used by many residents in the Milehouse/ Wolstanton area. It is a popular space for a variety of different residents, from dog walkers, children, to the elderly. A lot of residents use this land regularly and it is vital to our community to lose it would have a detrimental impact.

This piece of land is also home to many species of animals including hedgehogs which are classified as vulnerable to extinction. Building on it would have a massive environmental impact and a huge effect on the local wildlife

The current road infrastructure would also not cope with increased traffic. Milehouse lane is already a busy road without more traffic added to the equation. Any housing development would also present more danger to the pupils attending wolstanton high school, which is in close proximity.

The catchment primary school for this area is Hempstalls, which is currently already well oversubscribed. More housing would increase the pressure on the local schools, doctors and dentists, which are already full.
Where is the amenities to accommodate the all these houses?
