The petition is approaching 8,000 signatures but the clock is ticking for Woolsington Woods. In two weeks, the planning committee will make their move.
That’s why Save Newcastle Wildlife is inviting you to celebrate Midsummer’s Eve, on Saturday 20th June, with a dusk vigil at Woolsington Woods.
These beautiful woods are ideal habitat for many plants and animals including, otter and red squirrel, but are threatened with destruction to make way for 72 huge luxury homes.
We will meet at the Wheatsheaf pub, near the Callerton Parkway Metro, at 8pm and then move on to the woods for the vigil. We will be looking for badgers and bats and generally appreciating the wonderful woodland.
For those coming by Metro, the last return train to Gosforth departs at midnight.
