Save Newcastle WildlifeNewcastle upon Tyne, ENG, United Kingdom
4 June 2015
There is now increasing public concern over the lack of transparency in the planning application regarding the financial justification for the developments at Woolsington Hall and the building of luxury homes in Woolsington Woods.
Full economic justification is crucial to the case and documents have not been made publicly available.
Historic England have claimed they lack the resources to carry out a proper analysis of the financial justification for the developments and that Newcastle City Council employed independent consultants to examine this.
We still do not know who these independent consultants are or their previous track records. Members of the planning committee have not been allowed to see the documents- they are shrouded in commercial sensitivity. How, then, can they make a decision that the public can trust?
The petition now has over 7,000 signatures. Can you help make it 10,000?
We now have only three weeks to ensure this irreplaceable habitat is not lost forever.
