The Woolsington Woods petition appears to have gone viral!
5,700 people have now signed to object to the controversial developments and to protect the woods. We are overwhelmed by the support we have had, not just from Newcastle and the surrounding area, but from those much further afield. It is clearly an issue close to many people’s hearts.
Newcastle City Council will meet on Friday, 26th June to make a final decision on the future of Woolsington Woods but there is still time to get even more signatures. Please continue to spread the word: these last few weeks are crucial to the campaign.
As of last week, Natural England - the government's adviser on the natural environment - has agreed to look into the age of some of the woodland on account of information gleaned from planning survey documents. If the woodland is deemed ancient, it will have a significant impact on proposals.

Thank you all so much for your support.
