Newcastle City Council is due to meet in the next few weeks to decide the fate of Woolsington Woods.
Ecology reports from the council have shown just how valuable the woodland is.
The Ouse Burn River, which passes through Woolsington Woods, has only in recent years welcomed its first breeding otters. The legally protected great crested newt has relied on ponds within the site. A well established and extensive badger sett may soon be covered by a golf course. More than a thousand trees, many of them mature, may be lost.
Please continue to share this petition in a final push to prevent this beautiful and vital woodland from being lost forever. Thank you.
