The not so great news, however, is that another developer is submitting plans to Newcastle City Council to build hundreds of new homes just metres away from another haven for our city’s remaining red squirrels. This site is approximately 3 miles from Woolsington Woods. For locals, there is an exhibition where you can share your views with the developers at Hazlerigg War Memorial Hall on Thursday 4th June, from 3pm until 8pm. There are many controversial developments being put forward for Newcastle and in light of this increased attack on our green belt and wildlife, a group called Save Newcastle Wildlife has been set up.
