This week, Newcastle City Council’s planning department stated that members of the public should have the ability to research and make an informed decision on what they are signing, with regard to the Save Woolsington Woods petition.
Save Newcastle Wildlife thought our summary of the proposals was rather enlightening, but with the council recommendation in mind we would like to draw your attention to planning application numbers 2014/1925/01/DET and 2014/1926/01/LBC and invite you to peruse them at your leisure, should you have a spare few hours to trawl through 383 documents for 2014/1925/01/DET and 204 for 2014/1926/01/LBC.
You can view all associated documents by entering the application numbers on this page:

More excitingly, the Save Newcastle Wildlife meeting last Monday was broadcast on Radio Newcastle and attracted lots of new faces. Yesterday, the local papers photographed a group of campaigners in Woolsington Woods for a story which will hopefully appear in next week’s Chronicle/Journal, ahead of the dusk vigil which will take place at the woods on Midsummer's Eve, Saturday 20th June. Please come along to appreciate the wonderful woods - they may soon be gone.
