First Milestone

We've racked up 1,000 signatures! 1,029 people have signed our petition to say no to proposals for 1,200 houses within metres of one of Newcastle’s most valuable wildlife habitats. Thank you for helping us reach this important landmark! We have been speaking with Natural England about the eligibility of Havannah Nature Reserve as a potential Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and have sent the Northumbria Area Team several sets of data for flora and fauna in the reserve. Havannah Nature Reserve is unique in that it has a mosaic of different habitats, including heathland, woodland, wetland and meadows and provides refuge for several protected species. We are awaiting a response as to how Natural England will proceed with this data.
