There have been lots of insightful and heartfelt comments evidencing the overwhelming level of opposition to the plans. Internationally acclaimed naturalist, broadcaster and author Simon King OBE, who has worked for the BBC’s Natural History Unit, has liked our petition on his Facebook page, which has 14,000 likes. The plans are currently at consultation stage and the Newcastle Great Park Consortium has not yet submitted a formal application. But your support in opposing the plans at this initial stage will send a clear message that more must be done to protect wildlife in and around Havannah Nature Reserve.
