I've said it before but it WILL be a change for the better - for Mothers, Babies, families and the community in general; and for midwives who are already stretched to the limit but won't quit because we LOVE our work! We are so grateful for your continuing support. It, along with all the evidence we have about workloads, complex health issues in pregnancy and increasing number of newborns needing extra midwifery care, will justify the change we need to federal policy and funding. An article in The Age today highlights the huge increases in Maternity workloads backed by a study of 42,500 first time Australian mothers.
