I made this petition to bring #JusticeForAshleyMoore.

Ashley Moore was a 26 year old trans women living in Newark, NJ. Her body, on April 1, found outside a YMWCA building. Her mother hoping to wish her happy birthday, found out a more gruesome story. Her mother informs that she was only notified of her daughter’s death and information on the incident through social media. Stating that The Newark Police Department did not inform her of Moore’s death at all. That same Department misgendered Moore and disregarded the investigation as only, a suicide. Despite, the multiple markings on her body and additional evidence that points the investigation otherwise. The Mayor and The Police Department of Newark reopened the investigation, because ongoing pressure of LGBTQ+ Advocates. Including the great support of The Newark LGBTQ+ Center, starting a fundraiser that is linked below. 
Moore discussed in an Instagram video in 2018, that this Police Department refused to give her service, support or even listen to her upon a robbery that she endured. Then in the video, Moore goes on to discuss how quickly she was denied service, because of her identifying as a trans woman. 

I made this petition to make sure that Ashley Moore receives the justice she needed back in 2018 and now.
