We are a group of high school students starting a petition against animal testing in New Zealand specifically in the case of cosmetics. Your signatures can help make a difference to eliminate the use of animal testing in New Zealand, and save the animals who currently suffer needlessly solely for the benefit of cosmetic, beauty, and skin care product manufacturers. The policy that we are wanting to change is the New Zealand policy, which states that companies that test on animals need to follow certain acts relating to 'The Animal Welfare Act 1999', such as the three R's, which are replacement, reduction, and refinement. We are also wanting to change MAC's policy, where they state saying 'we do not test our products or ingredients on animals, or ask others to test on our behalf, except where required by law.' In 2013 Europe banned animal testing for cosmetics, however we need to bring this law into New Zealand.
