During fireworks, pets experience the same kind of startled response you do when you’re surprised by a loud noise. The and Fear and anxiety for many pets, can be a sensory overload. Some dogs and cats will have a fight-or-flight response to fireworks. This is a very real adrenaline rush, causing their blood pressure and heart rate to rise. Some pets can panic and cause injury to themselves while trying to escape, some may run away, and some may react with aggression.
Every year, veterinary clinics treat animals that have been injured and traumatised by fireworks, with some animals presenting with horrific and life-threatening injuries.

Animals are sentient creatures meaning they experience positive and negative emotions and fireworks promote anxiety, fear and often physical harm creating real animal welfare issues.”
