DEMAND SKIDMORE COLLEGE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR SUSPENSION OF SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVOR

The Issue

Amanda H, Skidmore student of 2024, was suspended for the rest of her semester for posting about her sexual abuser (another Skidmore student).  This student "called out" the other student that assaulted her on a private social media platform.  The student conduct board ruled this as a violation of a No Contact Order and rushed to force her off-campus.  This student never tried to contact her abuser and has made it clear to the college that they have ruled this violation incorrectly.  Skidmore is protecting the abuser by suspending the female victim.  The abuser's family holds much power, with his father being a chief in the United Nations.  The abuser happens to come from a very privileged family and through careful maneuvering of the new Trump title XI laws was able to conjure ground to suspend the victim after the post was claimed to have broken the NCO between the two. There is corruption and bias due to his family's significant influence, compared to the victim in need of financial aid.  The school states that they shall remain impartial yet is protecting the perpetrator of a powerful family.  Give justice to the victim that Skidmore College wrongfully did.  Protect your survivors of sexual assault.  The behavior Skidmore College shows towards its victims is disgusting.  Skidmore needs change.  They show no mercy for the survivors of sexual assault on their campus.  As I am sure you can understand this is horrible. Rescind this violation and suspension to prove Skidmore protects their victims.   We NEED people and college students around America to take a stand with us on this petition to state that sexual assault survivors will not be thrown out of housing by a corrupted administration.
