Return the Animals stolen from Tomorrow Tomorrow

The Issue

We, the undersigned, are calling for a civil settlement of a controversy concerning animals unlawfully removed from Tomorrow Tomorrow Horse Rescue Farm at 50 Prilliper Road in Livingston, NY 12534. On Sept. 5, a vindictive individual took two thoroughbred horses and 60 goats off the property, whip in hand, terrorizing the animals.

The two horses are part of a large herd that are free to run on 60 acres of pasture, which the goats share, and to take shelter in a huge run-in barn. The horses were removed to a filthy 30x30 pen with no shelter. The goats are in a 20x20 pen— all in an area that is not zoned for farm animals and that is on top of the well for drinking water of the Livingston neighborhood to which they were taken. The residents are concerned about contamination. Fortunately, the state police are aware of this, and will take action to continue serving the health and safety of the public.

Mr. Michael Bucci, founder and head of the non-profit rescue farm, has the auction papers for these animals to prove ownership of them. All arrived either abused or abandoned over the years and have come to thrive under the stewardship, devotion, and years of experience of Mr. Bucci.

We are also calling for the support of Mr. Bucci, who asks only that these animals remain in his care until this dispute is settled, solely for the sake of their health and welfare. The weather is getting cold and they are deteriorating quickly.

All of us signing below, whether volunteers, veterinarians, neighbors, longtime or new visitors to this farm, which is a paradise for animals and a great benefit to the community, attest to the excellent care and healthful environment at Tomorrow Tomorrow. Many horses have been specially trained and are ambassadors of trust to all visitors, including autistic children, teachers and their students, anyone with disabilities, and people who have simply never seen a farm animal.

As of the date of this letter (September 21st) the animals have not been returned, and their health and stability have been compromised. The best possible results by the time this petition arrives is that the animals will be back home and will remain there in safety until the matter is resolved. This is an extremely time-sensitive matter in regards to the animals’ health and that of the residents in the neighborhood where the animals were taken.

Sincerely,

Friends of Tomorrow Tomorrow Farm Animals
