My pets in my household are considered family members. We treat them with kindness and compassion, and give them the best love we have to offer. But some people don't. Time and time again I see horrific stories about people who mistreat, neglect, and abuse innocent animals. This is not okay, and it needs to be stopped. When a person inappropriately mistreats a child, they are put on a sexual offender registry. I believe we should have an animal abuse registry in New York State. It would be beneficial for future employers, neighbors, friends, and anyone else who wants to know more about the people around them. Join me in giving a voice to those who can't speak up for themselves.
