Elise Marie Stefanik is an American politician and businessperson who has been serving as the U.S. Representative for New York's 21st congressional district since 2015. A member of the Republican Party, she represents a district that encompasses much of the North Country, the Adirondack Mountains, and parts of the Capital District. As the chair of the House Republican Conference since 2021, Stefanik is the fourth-ranking member of House Republican leadership. Notably, she was the youngest woman ever elected to Congress at age 30 in 2014, and she was the first woman to hold her congressional seat. Her tenure has been marked by her leadership role within the Republican Party and her focus on regional issues important to her constituents.
