We, the concerned, parents and residents of Mount Vernon, NY, are signing this petition to ask that the New York State Department of Education and the New York State Attorney General's office initiate an investigation into the Mount Vernon City School District (MVCSD). 

● Over the past decade, the Mount Vernon City School District has been found to be in severe financial distress by the New York State Comptroller's Office and it continues to this day.

● There has been voter suppression and monopolizing of Board Trustee Leadership  for the past decade.

● There is evidence of missing DASA  documentation (A document to protect all students from harassment, bullying and discrimination). 

● School Board Trustees have been pushing a zero percent tax levy increase over the past decade, which has financially crippled the district. The school district is currently eleven (11) million dollars in the hole.

● Since March 2023, the residents of Mount Vernon have been paying  for 2 school superintendents salaries and benefits, which equates to over a half million dollars.

● There is a severe lack of mandated  Special Education services!!!

Now is the time to act and save Mount Vernon's schools from further corruption and mismanagement.
