Due to the recent pandemic, the past two academic years have been far from ordinary, as well as this year. However, this year, for the first time, students are back in school full time, relying on masks and social distancing to stop the spread. The reality is that it’s not working. Students are constantly being sent home due to either being exposed to or contracting COVID-19 themselves, and missing crucial learning time because of it. Administering the June 2022 regents would be both dangerous and extremely unfair to students statewide, and would possibly hold them even father behind than before. Students are better off without the tests, so do what’s right for the students.
