As of June 28th, 2021 the New York State Division of Licensing rescinded the Emergency Covid order allowing on line and live training for the home inspector qualifying course and continuing education courses (CEU’s), now mandating that these classes revert back to in person as opposed to online and live via Zoom - which has been going on since 3/2020 with astounding success - while other more critical New York State licensees, such as Professional Engineers, Registered Nurses, Realtors and others can use online and remote learning to meet their qualifying and CEU requirements. 

The NYS Licensing Division has not given a reason for such a strict requirement being posed on Home Inspectors compared to other occupational licenses other than saying the “License Law” does not allow on line for this professional/occupational license and an act of government needs to occur. 

This petition is to ask the NYS Licensing Division to reconsider this decision and afford us the same privilege of Online and remote learning - especially with the new surge of Covid and the delta variant cases being reported. 

Over the past 18 months, record keeping of attendance and mandatory quizzes has been proven to be a success and more accurate.
