It was recently announced that New York City will not be holding its annual 9/11 lights in the sky tribute due to coronavirus concerns. Over 3000 people perished on 9/11, most from the NYC and New Jersey area and we feel this tribute MUST be allowed to happen as it has happened every year since the attacks. People across the city and in New Jersey look to the lights as a symbol of America and New York's resilience in the face of terror. We came back stronger and united, and we must not allow anything to stop us from honoring those we lost and letting the world know we will always be those shining beams of hope in the world. There are safe ways to for the tribute to take place, for both spectators and those working on its setup. We ask Mayor DeBlasio and the New York City council to allow this tribute to take place and show the world we will prevail once again.
