THEY PROMISED US COLUMBIA WATERFRONT PARK. WE GOT TRAILERS AND GARBAGE TRUCKS

We were promised Columbia Waterfront Park, a 2-acre plot stretching from Kane to Degraw on the west side of Columbia Street. After many community meetings, drawings were rendered and $1.7M was set aside. Nearly a decade later, instead of our park, the Department of Transportation moved in their trailers, and the Port Authority leased the surrounding area to store garbage trucks. We will be enduring the BQE renovation for years, suffering through grinding traffic and choking air. We need our park, and we need it now.
Columbia Waterfront residents need access to trees and grass. We need a place to swing our kids, walk our dogs, and sit outside to eat from our local restaurants.
Billions of Federal dollars are coming to NYC in stimulus money. Between Sandy and COVID, we know that we need green spaces, and we know that the residents of Columbia Waterfront are being left behind.
Please sign this petition to let your politicians know how important the Columbia Waterfront Park would be to you.
