For decades, residents of our community and our children have been neglected by the city`s Parks and Recreations by not providing a soccer field to play on. New York City`s largest public park, Pelham Bay Park, had received a full renovation approximately 15 years ago. The city funded a brand new track, football field, baseball fields, basketball courts, playgrounds, etc... However a soccer field is no where in site. Multiple tax paying residents from near and far all visit this park daily to play the worlds most popular sport, and are only forced to the side to play in between trees and barbecue areas.

We, the residents of this community, urge you Mr Councilman, Mr Mayor, and all other elected officials, to designate the open space behind the tracks bleachers, toward an official FIFA regulation soccer field. This request is made to you by  tax paying residents of New York City, with support by Doxa Sports Club, and the Zodohos Peghe community.
