If NYS allows NYC and its agency Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) to use bus lane and speeding cameras against TLC drivers then most of the drivers will be jobless or they would have to pay heavy fines. Taxi driver's hardworking earnings would be going to TLC and NYS DMV based on NYC proposal. NYS should only allow NYS DMV to fine the license holder not TLC. . In case the driver accumulates points then TLC will either suspended or revoke his or her license and fine the driver. This will increase the unemployment rate of NYC if the taxi driver's license is suspended. If they don't work how are they going to survive and feed their families. "City's Proposal Allow TLC to use speed cameras to sanction law-breaking drivers State law on speed and bus lane cameras currently prohibits TLC from using images of TLC vehicles caught on camera speeding or blocking bus lanes in its tribunals. City proposal The City also supports changing the speed and bus lane camera laws to allow TLC to issue tickets to TLC licensed drivers caught speeding or driving in the bus lane.
