New World has recently started asking for 'feedback on their use of plastic bags'. This has been done through a poll with three options - charging 10 cents per plastic bag, 5 cents per plastic bag, or no charge on plastic bags at all.

This petition is about the fourth option - remove plastic bags all together.
There is no longer any excuse for the mass production of plastic bags when there are endless available and affordable alternatives. New World should be investing their money into sustainable carry bags, not charging for plastic bags and giving the proceeds to companies who exist to clean up the detriment of them!

New Zealanders can do this. We can make this change. Let's push back on the production of single-use, wasteful, environmentally damaging production and do the right thing!
