Five months ago we started a movement to get Lee Harris a new trial. Back then we were few and today we are more than 60,000 strong. During this time we have caught the attention of the Cook County State’s Attorney's office. Several months ago they responded that Lee Harris’s case is their top priority along with a few other cases surrounding the corrupt Detective Richard Zuley. Since that time we have not heard from them. We need to be more vocal to underscore just how serious we are in our pursuit of a new trial for Lee and keep this issue alive. Lee is an innocent man in prison for 27 years for a murder he did not commit. He was convicted on the statement of a jailhouse snitch who has since admitted he never met Lee while in prison and his testimony was false in order to gain a reduced sentence for his own crime. Additionally exculpatory evidence was not allowed to be presented at trial.
