Hello! 

If you have been following the progress of the New Paltz Food Fridge project organized by the local Non-Profit Millions Of Butterflies, then you will know we've hit a major road block. Due to miscommunication between the renter, the property owner and our organization in the very beginning of the project we have lost our proposed location behind Snugs Harbor Bar and Grill, we have now kindly been told to get off the property.

Now, we are looking for a new location and have decided the best place would be next to the Green Shed in Hasbrouck Park right where the porta potty is now (which would obviously be moved). This is ideal spot because there is already an electric outlet right there, as well as some asphalt so the structure won't sink in to the dirt as time passes. Because Hasbrouck park is owned by the town this provides longevity as the property won't be changing hands anytime soon. It is also central to downtown New Paltz and is a well known location which provides the necessary accessibility.

We have created this petition to show the Village Board and Mayor Tim Rogers that this Fridge is not only needed, but supported by the New Paltz community at large. As well as show not only do we at Millions Of Butterflies think that housing the Fridge in Hasbrouck Park is a good idea, but that the community does too. 

If we are denied of use of Hasbrouck Park for the Free Food Fridge, we will truly be back at square one. Especially as the days get shorter and colder it is becoming more pertinent that this fridge is going to be needed - especially in the winter when the snow comes toppling down and many are left without secure access to money and therefore food. This Fridge needs to built sooner rather than later, we are already weeks behind schedule and this setback is the last thing we truly needed. It's time to break actual ground on this project.
