This petition is being created in honor of David Magee, who was fatally shot at Parisite DIY Skatepark on June 27, 2019.

David Magee was a well loved person, who had a passion for skateboarding and helping others. He impacted so many people during his time here, and still to this day. The whole world seen his last "rock to fakie" when it went viral. There is a mural honoring David at Parisite DIY Skatepark from fellow skaters. Some say they could feel David skating when they're there.

David said he felt free when he was on his skateboard, and we want everyone to feel the same as him when they visit Parisite DIY Skatepark. 
There isn't much to do out here in New Orleans for the youth and David was all about teaching others how to skateboard or do a new trick.

We believe (as a community) that we need shed more positivity, show encouragement, and ensure safety for everyone.
