We the students of New Mexico Highlands University do hereby call on a retraction of the mandate sent out by Vice President Max Baca. This mandate includes limitations to working only twenty (20) hours per week during the summer. In addition to a limitation of work hours, we students, strongly oppose the reduction of pay to $7.50 an hour. 

We understand that Departments have the ability to justify current pay; however, we recognize that the decision to maintain our pay is a decision that ultimately Vice President Baca still has the power to make. Furthermore, we understand that due to a decrease in state funding and low enrollment, budgetary decisions are being made. But we vehemently oppose that the burden to carry these shortfalls falls on the backs of students. 

Therefore, we demand that another solution be found. Additionally, we stand in agreement that the confidence in Vice President Baca's abilities to fulfill his duties as Vice President of Finance is found wanting. Consequently, we the below signed stand in firm affirmation in a vote of no confidence in Vice President Baca's ability to serve New Mexico Highlands University.
