We agree with the partial opening of gyms in New Mexico at 50% of capacity with restrictions. We do NOT agree that smaller fitness centers and "fitness class" establishments are being excluded from being allowed to also open with the same restrictions. 

There is no conclusive medical evidence that a yoga, spin, or barre class or any other class that is not in a traditional "gym" has a higher rate of infection or lesser safety protocols then a traditional "free weight" gym. In fact, there would and SHOULD be a strong argument that smaller establishments, abiding by the same 50% of capacity rule that clean their studio after each class, is actually SAFER than an open gym situation with several patrons sharing equipment.

We demand that all gym/fitness establishments be treated the same under this phased opening policy while respecting the rules implemented but the local authorities having jurisdiction. Include Yoga, spin and barre and all other types of smaller businesses in this reopening order.
