New Line, Horror Inc, and Gun Media: Fan recommendations for "Friday The 13th: The Game"

The Issue

Note: In order to keep things simple, I'll refer to controller buttons by their Playstation names.

3rd-person, 1st-person, isometric, & sidescroller perspectives should be usable, with customizable options like in the enhanced version of "Grand Theft Auto 5". Changing between 3rd-person, 1st-person, isometric, & sidescroller perspectives and selecting which of the customizable options will be used should be done under "Options" in the pause menu. Obviously, the 1st-person perspective should turn off when a character is in a freeflow combat situation and then turn back on after the freeflow combat situation has ended.

The game should have a vast open-world map that allows players to explore all of Camp Crystal Lake, as well as the surrounding areas.

In addition to an online multiplayer mode and a story mode, there should be an offline multiplayer mode for up to 4 players.

During online & offline multiplayer play, when a player's character gets killed, they should immediately respawn with everything that they had acquired before dying.

During online multiplayer play, when something comes up and a player has to press the Start Button to pause, their character should disappear until they are able to resume playing.

When playing as Jason, players should be able to swim in Crystal Lake and snatch unsuspecting victims from boats and the dock.

Tools(firing weapons, bladed weapons, batons, shields, and explosives) & special abilities(such as forward charge attacks) should be selected by pressing the Up D-Pad Button and then pressing the X Button after highlighting the chosen tool or special ability.

All firing weapons should have rapid fire and bladed weapons, batons, shields, & explosives should be able to be thrown rapidly, held by characters after being selected, and used while being held by pressing the Square Button.

Aiming should be done with the L2 Button, while firing & throwing should be done with the R2 Button.

Jumping should be done by pressing the X Button and, for Jason when he's undead, superjumping(which should be able to be done rapidly) should be done by holding the X Button.

Punching/kicking should be done by pressing the Square Button.

The grabbing of objects(such as enemies) should be done by holding the Square Button.

Combat-rolling(which should be able to be done rapidly) should be done by holding the Circle Button.

Players should be able to counter enemy attacks during hand-to-hand combat by pressing the Triangle Button.

Pressing the R3 Button should cause a character to hold up a shield from the tool selection while using a non-shield tool. When this feature is used, the character should be able to hit objects(such as enemies) with the shield by pressing the Circle Button.

Holding the R3 Button should cause a character to crouch.

After a special ability has been selected, it should be used by pressing the L1 Button & the R1 Button.

Blocking should be done by keeping the L1 Button & the L2 Button held down.

There should be unlockable on/off tweaks and extras, such as unlimited use of all tools & special abilities, unlimited health(which, obviously, should not be usable during online play), unlimited underwater breathing(which should already be used for when playing as Jason undead), playable characters from the original "Friday The 13th" film series(including Pamela Voorhees, Crazy Ralph, Tommy Jarvis, Tina Shepard, Roy Burns, Pam Roberts, Reggie Winter, etc), and character skins(including a skin for Jason that's based on the NECA Jason action figure that was inspired by Jason's look in the NES "Friday The 13th" video game, skins for Tommy Jarvis at ages 12, 18, & 19, a skin for child Jason of the appearance he had in Alice Hardy's nightmare at the end of "Friday The 13th", a skin for Pamela Voorhees of the appearance she had in Chris Higgins's nightmare at the end of "Friday The 13th 3", etc). Unlocked character skins should be selected by holding the Triangle Button and then pressing the X Button after highlighting the chosen character skin.

Vehicle movement should be caused solely by using the left analog stick(like character movement) and should not require keeping a button held down.

After a player finishes the story for the first time, all of the playable characters should be unlocked.

The playable character selection screen & the drivable vehicle selection screen should be brought up by pressing the Select Button, which should also be how map screens, the character bio selection screen, the upgrade selection screen, and the on/off tweak selection screen are brought up.

Whenever playing as Jason and no matter what Jason character skin is in use, there should be an option in either the pause menu or somewhere in the menus that are brought up with the Select Button to have Jason either wearing or not wearing one of his many masks.

If the game ends up having audio logs, the audio logs should be pausable, rewindable, and fast-forwardable. Cutscenes should be pausable, rewindable, and fast-forwardable.

After a player finishes the story for the first time, a quick-travel option should be unlocked.

Like in "Batman: Arkham Knight", there should be showcase galleries.

There should be the option to play the game in either black-&-white or sepia tone.

The in-game content that was offered to backers of the Kickstarter campaign should merely be content that is already unlockable in the game, but is automatically unlocked for the copies of the game that the backers will own. Having there be content that only the backers can get access to is unfair.

Inspiration should also be taken from the following post: http://www.fridaythe13thfranchise.com/2015/02/the-ideal-friday-13th-video-game.html.
